Chapter History

     The Colonel William Preston Chapter was organized in Elmwood Park Library, Roanoke, on July 12, 1923, with Mrs. James R. Schick, State Vice Regent, presiding.  Miss Audrey Hess was organizing regent. There were twenty-five charter members.  The primary purpose for the organization of the chapter was to work among the Greek, Syrian, and Chinese immigrants and to prepare them for citizenship.
